Space Medicine

Space Medicine

This track will explore the development of Handheld Medical Devices that have borrowed operational concepts along with hardware and software inspired by or first developed to satisfy space program requirements. The development of these devices has also borrowed the expertise of numerous professionals from industries outside the space program. The collective efforts that went into the development of these devices not only serves as an example of the impact of space technology on the improvement of life on Earth but also give us a tantalizing glimpse of the vast array of commercial opportunities available through space spinoffs.
