Educated as a physicist at MIT, Marshall Eubanks was the technical lead of Very Long Baseline Interferometry programs at both the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and the U.S. Naval Observatory, participating in the process in the creation of the International Celestial Reference Frame. In April, 2014, he founded Asteroid Initiatives LLC, a company dedicated to using pico and femtospacecraft to dramatically lower the cost of Earth observation and space exploration.

Recognitions include having an asteroid, (6696) Eubanks, named in his honor, and winning the U.S. Naval Observatory’s Newcomb Medal.
