The Space Museum Tour
9:15 am to 2:30 pm
$55.00 per person (price includes admission to museum and transportation; please bring $15 for the lunch buffet)

Is your favorite Space Exploration Mission Mercury, Gemini, or Apollo? Do you remember the “space-craze” of the 1960’s when every child owned astronaut and rocket toys? Did you have a ray gun to protect yourself from an alien invasion? Visit The Space Museum, a small-town museum in Bonne Terre, Missouri, that preserves and displays Space artifacts in order to promote Space exploration. See cultural icons of the early Space Era and artifacts from Mercury, Gemini, Apollo, Skylab, and Space Shuttle missions. Among the artifacts on display is a piece of the heat shield from Apollo 8, an outside protective layer from the Apollo 11 capsule, and a large meteorite from South America. All of this history will leave you hungry so enjoy lunch at the Homestead Restaurant, a short bus ride away. Facebook reviews state that people like Homestead’s friendly staff and “always good food,” including fried chicken, salad bar, and catfish, traditional foods in small town Missouri. You will leave Bonne Terre in awe of our manned Space Program, full of comfort food, and delighted at exploring a town in the Heartland.

For more information please visit www.space-mo.org and the restaurant’s Facebook page.

Participants will be responsible for the cost of their own lunch.
